Back Garden Veggie Oasis
Residential

Project duration: 3 days
Project style: Back garden renovation

Our client, Debbie, already had a food-growing area and a beautiful greenhouse at the back of her garden. However, the space needed better flow to optimize it for more food growth and to create areas that encourage wildlife.
Within three days of work, we opened up the growing beds in the sunniest part of the garden, added a trellis for vertical growth, and thinned out tree branches. These branches were upcycled to create a wildlife nook that also serves as an ethereal gate to enter the growing space. We also added a micro-pond, a hedgehog house, a compost bay, and bamboo fencing, which created a nice backdrop along with bee hotels and feeders.
The result was a wildlife haven, a rich spot for biodiversity, and a garden where her vegetable plants could thrive!
“I gave Jack a fairly vague brief about how I envisaged my fairly ordinary garden and left him to manage the project whilst I was away. All I can say is that he interpreted my loose ideas into a fabulous, natural growing space and repurposed what was there already to make it so much more successful and eye-catching. His passion, vision and eye for the unusual transformed my fairly pedestrian growing area into a place I spend all my spare time until it gets dark!”
